Mardi Gras Special Ends Today, WhyPark Gives Auction Details

Here are a couple news notes from Domainer Mardi Gras and WhyPark.

Domainer Mardi Gras special ends today: Domainer Mardi Gras is giving away a 500 GB external hard drive to anyone who signs up to attend by midnight tonight. Registration rates are as low as $595 if you also stay at the conference hotel. This is the lowest fee you’ll ever see for attending an industry-wide domain conference. It’s a lot of fun, too. I recommend taking advantage of this offer if you’re sitting on the fence about attending Domainer Mardi Gras 2010.

WhyPark announces auction details: WhyPark is teaming up with Rick Latona Auctions to test out the latter’s Latonas.com auction platform for WhyPark’s upcoming charity domain name auction. Not only is the auction for a good cause, but I’m excited to see what Latona has developed. His company has used Proxibid.com for its previous auctions, but the system has serious limitations.

To learn more about the auction, listen to the DNW Radio interview with WhyPark founder Craig Rowe.

Domainer Mardi Gras Early Bird Rate Ends Next Week

Best Domainer Mardi Gras discount ends soon.

Domainer Mardi GrasEarly bird rates for Domainer Mardi Gras end October 15, so now is the time to register if you plan to make the trip. Early bird registration is $795, but if you also book your hotel room at the conference hotel, you’ll get admission for only $495. The hotel is a good deal, too, so this will probably be your most affordable conference opportunity for 2010.

Domainer Mardi Gras (DMG) organizers sent a multi-page brochure to thousands of domainers this past week. If you didn’t get it, you can view it here (pdf).

This year’s event is being managed by Michael Ward. Few people in the industry have a better understanding of all facets of the domain industry — from registries to registrars to regulation to monetization — than Ward. Last year’s event was memorable because of the parties. I expect this year’s event will be memorable for both the parties and the programming.

Registration is available online.
