Experian picks up prized domains in acquisition.

Credit information company Experian picked up a few killer domains a couple weeks ago, but I haven’t seen anyone in the domain industry write about it yet.

Experian bought Mighty Net Inc, which owned the domains,, and, in a deal worth $207.5 million.

This is certainly more than just a domain name deal. Mighty Net has 680,000 U.S. subscribers to its credit monitoring services.

But it’s interesting to note that Mighty Net hasn’t owned and, two of its flagship brands, for long. According to this blog post, Mighty Net picked up the domains just earlier this year. The sales price wasn’t released but it was reportedly north of $5 million.
