SedoMLS Beta Now Open to SedoPro Customers

December 14, 2010Domain Sales, Domaining, Domainnamewire, sedo, sedomls, sedoproComments Off on SedoMLS Beta Now Open to SedoPro Customers

Company expands beta for listing syndication and fulfillment service.

SedoMLS, which syndicates your Sedo domain name listings across multiple sites and instantly transfers domain names upon purchase, is now available for select Sedo customers.

Sedo launched the service last year but it has been closed to most domainers. The new beta phase permits SedoPro customers to list domains at the MLS level. Other Sedo customers with 5,000 or more domain names may request access as well.

SedoMLS listings are syndicated to a number of partners, many of which enable domains to be sold and transferred instantly without seller involvement. Partners include Name.com, InternetX, and DirectNIC.

The system is a competitor to AfternicDLS. AfternicDLS has a number of large registrars already in its stable including Network Solutions, Register.com, and Name.com. eNom and Moniker will be added before the end of the year.

Despite not having the same major registrar distribution as AfternicDLS, Sedo may be able play to its strength in the international market. The company has a leg up on Afternic for selling ccTLDs and foreign language domain names.

Please note that DNW Certified Stats also works with regular Sedo accounts.

DomainAdvertising is a new(er) parking platform that brings stellar landing pages together with both automated and human optimization.

DNW Certified Stats is still in beta. If you have a SedoPro or DomainAdvertising account, I’d appreciate you trying out the service and reporting any problems to me.

SedoPro Event to Go on World Tour

July 7, 2010Domain Parking, Domaining, Domainnamewire, sedo, sedoproComments Off on SedoPro Event to Go on World Tour

Company takes its acclaimed Pro events on the road.

Sedo is one of the most international companies in the domain name industry, so it’s fitting that the company will soon be taking its popular SedoPro events on a world tour.

Until now, Sedo has organized annual SedoPro Partner Forums in luxurious locations alternating between the United States and Europe each year. Now regional events will be held on 4 continents and in 7 cities throughout the upcoming year. The first will be in Boston, where Sedo’s U.S. headquarters is, August 31 to September 1st. That will be followed by events in Seoul, Korea; Tuscany, Italy; London, UK;Cologne, Germany and two other undisclosed locations in Australia and South America.

Information about the events will be live at SedoProPartnerForum.com next week.

Sedo hopes that taking the show on the road will help attract a more diverse group of clients who weren’t able to attend previous events due to location or timing.

SedoPro Partner Forum Wraps Up in Key West

October 9, 2009Domain Services, Domaining, Domainnamewire, sedoproComments Off on SedoPro Partner Forum Wraps Up in Key West

Successful and enjoyable conference comes to an end.

The SedoPro Partner Forum concluded this morning in Key West, Florida.

Yesterday started with a couple panels in the morning, followed by an afternoon of wave runners, snorkeling, bike riding, and scooters. After an afternoon in the hot sun, attendees walked over to an oceanfront restaurant for a steak and seafood dinner (see picture below, courtesy of Bill Sweetman of Tucows).

After dinner guests went to a 1920s theme party back at the resort, complete with flapper and burlesque girls. The party went until one in the morning, but many people weren’t ready to call it a night. About 20 people put on their swimsuits and went for a night swim in the ocean, followed by a dip in the pool.

This morning I was on a panel with Ron Jackson of DNJournal and representatives of registries Neustar and PIR to discuss new top level domain names.

A number of people are staying for the weekend, but I’ll be heading to the airport shortly. Hopefully my trip home won’t be as adventurous as the one here.

Domain Name News Bytes for September 15

September 15, 2009Domaining, Domainnamewire, Parked.com, sedopro, Uncategorized, whypark, xsite pro, yahooComments Off on Domain Name News Bytes for September 15

News bytes to start your Tuesday.

Here are a few domain name news items for the week:

Domain Name Wire Radio is coming. More later.

Parked/Why Park Forum. Parked.com and WhyPark have created a user forum at forum.parked.com. Parked’s Donny Simonton has always been active on message boards, so you can rest assured you’ll get direct access through this forum. Hint: register for the forum to get more content.

Got travel traffic?. If you have a good portfolio of travel domains getting xx,xxx visitors per month, shoot me a note. I have someone who wants to talk to you.

Yahoo’s updated traffic quality algorithm has gone into effect. Some domain parkers are complaining, but many of them probably only make a dollar a day, anyway. Remember: quality of traffic matters!

XsitePro thoughts. I’ve long raved about Xsite Pro. The only problem is I still can’t find anyone that creates good custom templates for it. They’re always so amateur.

SedoPro Partner Forum. Just a few weeks until Sedo rolls out the red carpet for VIP parking clients. Most enjoyable few days you’ll ever spend with fellow domainers.
